About Dr. Ewart

I have been practicing dentistry in Calgary since 1981 after obtaining my dental degree from the University of Western Ontario. Prior to that I obtained a B.A., a Masters in Histology and a Doctorate in Developmental Biology from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. I taught at the University and College levels before entering Dentistry. I feel privileged to be treating second and third generations of my early patients and value the relationships that I have built. I am committed to providing sound dental care based on a thorough assessment of my patient's needs and desires.

Practice Philosophy 
Communication is the key to good dentistry. We recognize that excellent communication can only occur in a relaxed and trusting environment where patients feel they can express their needs and concerns. My staff and I will always take the time to ensure that patients understand every aspect of their dental care. Dental treatment only starts after a comprehensive examination, including a complete medical and dental history, relevant x-rays and a thorough understanding of each patient's dental needs and their desired outcomes. There are usually several treatment options. Patients are informed of the relative merits and costs for each option and are encouraged to ask questions while making their choices.

As a practice of General Dentistry, we offer comprehensive care to patients of all ages. Dental health has been found to be closely linked to many medical conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, chronic lung disease, low birth weight and strokes. We are committed to providing dental care in a caring, non judgemental manner, focusing on each patient's well being!

New Patients 
We appreciate that a patient's time is valuable and schedule appointments to fit our patient's needs. Complete exams and cleaning/hygiene appointments are provided promptly and to fit your schedule.
